Our Services
Working in the interstitial spaces of urban planning and design, we help our clients - cities, towns, neighborhood foundations, developers, and universities and colleges - implement sustainable practices and places, spanning streets, neighborhoods, and integrated infrastructure systems to better serve all segments across the socioeconomic spectrum.
  1. Master planning
With expertise in physical planning grounded in an understanding of the economic, political, cultural, and regulatory contexts shaping neighborhoods, we are adept in working across varied contexts and varied project types to help clients and communities explore, articulate, and implement plans, projects, and better places for better living.
  2. Site planning & urban design
With training and experience in civil engineering, architecture, and urban design, we bring an in depth understanding to the challenges and intricacies of site planning and design.
  3. Infrastructure
With expertise in transportation and urban infrastructure, we bring an integrated perspective to the infrastructure challenges of urban design. Our approach merges an understanding of the aesthetic, social, and spiritual value of public space with the powerful potential for district-scale integration of water, energy, and mobility systems, from intensely urban to special natural landscapes.
  4. Site analysis & concept studies
The breadth of our design experience in thirty states and internationally allows us to bring an efficient and pragmatic, yet highly creative approach to neighborhood and block studies. We have provided concept and yield studies to clients in initial project feasibility analyses to quickly ascertain the possibilities for a particular project.
  5. Charrette facilitation
Sease has led scores of charrettes around the country and participated in many more, working on projects from a single block to a multi-county region. He is also a certified charrette planner by the National Charrette Institute.
  6. Form based coding
We have contributed to or authored dozens of form based codes for municipalities and developers across the country. Our work has been adopted as standalone municipal zoning districts, as form based code components, and as part of homeowner's association documents as part of the larger development review process.
  7. Implementation assistance
Whether it's intransigent utility companies, cumbersome ordinances, or unanticipated site conditions, project obstacles can be more easily tackled through strategic analysis informed by our multi-disciplinary expertise, from initial project concepts through final construction.
  8. Owner's representation
Some clients have retained our services as an owner's representative, to provide design and development expertise during negotiations, regulatory approvals processes, and from concept development through design and final construction. The breadth and depth of our multi-disciplinary experience has proven to add value while saving costs time and time again.
